Flight Instructor Course (FIC)

The Flight Instructor Course (FIC) is designed for licensed commercial pilots who wish to build flight experience and pursue a career in aviation training. This program prepares pilots with the knowledge, teaching techniques, and practical skills necessary to effectively instruct student pilots in both ground and flight training.

The course combines ground school sessions on teaching methods, lesson planning, and student evaluation with practical flight instruction training under the supervision of qualified instructors. Emphasis is placed on developing communication skills, instructional techniques, and safety awareness.

Upon completion, graduates will obtain a DGCA Flight Instructor License, enabling them to provide certified flight instruction and build professional flight hours while contributing to the development of future aviators. To enroll in the Flight Instructor Course (FIC) at AAG Indonesia, candidates must hold an active Indonesian DGCA Commercial Pilot License with an Instrument Rating (CPL-IR) or an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL). Contact AAGID at id.info@aag.aero or contact +6281196955717 for full details.

Working as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) is regarded as the prestigious, structured, and financially rewarding pathway for low-time commercial pilots to build flight hours toward airline recruitment minimums.

Instead of paying out-of-pocket for private aircraft rental, employed instructors earn a steady professional income while logging 50 to 80 high-quality flight hours every month. Teaching from the right seat forces instructors to master aerodynamic theory, anticipate student errors, and refine command decision-making under pressure.

The Flight Instructor Course delivers pedagogical training based on the Fundamentals of Instructing (FOI), exploring educational psychology, adult learning theory, student barriers to learning, and effective teaching methodologies.

Candidates learn how to conduct professional pre-flight briefings, analyze human error, and deliver constructive post-flight debriefings. The practical flight syllabus trains candidates to fly with precision from the right-hand instructor seat, mastering simultaneous verbal instruction and hands-off flight supervision. Instructors-in-training also practice identifying, diagnosing, and promptly recovering from hazardous student flight errors and simulated emergency situations.

To earn the official DGCA Flight Instructor Certificate Candidates must pass official DGCA theoretical written examinations covering the Fundamentals of Instructing (FOI) and advanced aeronautical ground subject instruction. The practical flight test is conducted by a senior DGCA flight inspector, during which the candidate is evaluated on their ability to teach complex maneuvers, explain flight aerodynamics verbally in real time, and safely handle student simulated emergencies. Passing this demanding evaluation certifies the candidate as an official DGCA flight instructor
